The small seaside village of Kalantos with a population of roughly 100, is situated at the southernmost part of Naxos. Its rich wetland area is home to many migratory birds.

The village of Agios Thalleleos is one of the four settlements comprising the community of Melanes, in western Naxos.

The small village of Damalas, spread in amphitheatric fashion at the foot of Lagos hill in the valley of Tragea, is visible from many other locations on the island and offers fantastic views.
