The Cordelati of Naxos – A living tradition The custom of “Kordelatoi” is revived once again in the villages of Naxos, from 15 to 22 February 2026. Adorned with their distinctive colorful ribbons and led by the flag-bearer carrying the decorated banner, the Kordelatoi are welcomed from one village to another, sharing the spirit of Carnival, hospitality, feast and joy. Handed down from generation to generation, this custom stands as a living expression of our island’s enduring identity.
