Talk “Along the Routes of People and Naxos” Christos Sideris’s talk explores the modern history of Naxos through the movements of its people: internal migration from villages to mines and ports, the seasonal movement of workers, and the changes that shaped the island’s social and cultural identity. Through old routes, paths and the traces left by human presence in the landscape, the presentation highlights the relationship between space, memory and the survival of communities.

Film Screening “Almond Tree” by Christina Phoebe Discussion: 1 hour, with the participation of director and visual artist-filmmaker Christina Phoebe, the film’s co-star Lauretta Macauley, and architect-researcher Konstantina Theodorou. Film description: The almond tree blooms just before spring, but it is also the word that haunts a young child upon first arriving in Greece. Through a poetic narrative, the film follows women as they reconstruct fragmented memories across Mediterranean landscapes, exploring identity, loss and the search for belonging. Talk “In the Depths of Serifos” with Alexandra Christakaki Testimonies of the last surviving workers from the mines of Serifos The book brings together testimonies from the last surviving workers of the Serifos mines and their descendants, preserving a world at risk of disappearing: working conditions, vocabulary, struggles and the everyday experiences of people who worked the land. Through audio excerpts, photographs and archival documents, the presentation connects collective memory with the contemporary need to preserve stories that remain hidden.

Performance “A thread cut short from an unspun spool” with Sofia Xenia Economou The artist presents a performance that re-examines the figure of Ariadne as a bearer of memory, female experience and cultural continuity. A sculptural garment made of plaster in the form of a human torso becomes the setting for a ritual act of revelation: as the shell breaks, a red thread emerges, unravelling stories of origin, inheritance and transmission. The performance explores the body as a site where memory is inscribed and reflects on what remains, transforms or survives through time.

Performance “NAGARE” with Eliza Soroga & Roxani Eleni Garefalaki NAGARE (Flow) is a performance combining Japanese butoh dance, organic movement, Epirot polyphonic lament and electric violin. Drawing inspiration from Greek and Japanese ritual traditions, it explores the cycle of life, loss and rebirth through a poetic landscape of movement, voice and sound. The performance offers an experiential encounter in which body, voice and music come together as vehicles of collective memory and connection. As part of the festival "The Flame of Tradition", an open free Naxos dance seminar will be presented in Agios Minas, Naxos.

For one evening, Halki, the historic village at the heart of Naxos, is transformed into an open-air artistic park filled with music, dance, theatre, poetry, painting, cinema and sculpture, inviting visitors to wander through its charming streets and experience its neighbourhoods in a unique way. Featuring musicians and composers from Forum: Young Composers – Young Soloists, together with other musicians, painters, sculptors and writers from Greece and abroad.

Workshop “In the Echo of Chora” with Olga Souvermezoglou How do sounds shape our experience of place? How does our perception of space change when we choose to listen carefully? The artist invites the public on an active listening walk around the Ursuline complex, exploring the soundscape of Chora, Naxos. The route concludes on the rooftop of Katharsis Retreat, where participants will enjoy music and observe the full moon, transforming listening into a collective experience of connection with place.
