Camilla Kielland | Painting Exhibition “A Garden for the Unseen”
Solo Painting Exhibition by Camilla Kielland, entitled “A Garden for the Unseen” at the former Ursuline School of Naxos, from July 30 to August 10, 2025 Konstantinos Th. Spyropoulos.
Opening: Wednesday, July 28, 2025 | 19:30-22:30 The Municipality of Naxos and Lesser Cyclades presents at the former Ursuline School, from July 28 to August 10, the first solo exhibition of Camilla Kielland, A Garden for the Unseen, curated by art historian Konstantinos Th. Spyropoulos.
As the curator notes: “The solo exhibition ‘A Garden for the Unseen’ presents a series of atmospheric, dreamlike landscapes that explore the fragile realm of the unconscious. In these works, Camilla Kielland delves into the duality of light and darkness, innocence and its loss, involution and evolution, revealing inner states of existence.
Each composition consists of eerie landscapes, portraits and sometimes of human and animal entities of a hybrid nature. A constituent element of all paintings is the animistic energy that inspires them, as well as the liminal spaces where memory, emotion and imagination are transformed into mist, gloom and whisper.
Through the artist's abstract and soulful works, the visual - almost automatic - writing with its underlying musicality invites the audience to wander into the unseen spectrum of this world - a world both real and dreamlike.
